Cleanliness in the dental office
At Yonge Wellington Dental we meet and exceed ODA standards for sterilization procedures and requirements.
Anything that comes into contact with our patient or the dentist or the staff like light handles, x-ray head, the trays, intra oral camera has to have a protective sheath which be changed after each single patient. Since some areas are too large to have a protective sheath (such as counters or the chairs), they are disinfected with TBOpTim33 which is environmentally friendly because its biodegradable. Hydrogen peroxide decomposes to water and oxygen within moments of being properly discharged into a drainage system. Its AHP Technology (accelerated hydrogen peroxide) is also the first and only disinfectant cleaner technology approved and certified by EcoLogo – Environmental Choice Program.
After each procedure our Instruments will be pre-washed in Hydrim and be bagged separately and sterilized in Statim so they remain in a sterile package and are only opened in front of our patient’s right before they are used for a procedure.
With each load we do daily testing of our sterilizer to make sure everything is working as it should.
The sterilization area is separate from all the other areas or rooms in the office to minimize cross contamination.
